Madeline started painting in 2006. She has had a long affinity with flowers gained through the study, practice and teaching of Flower Arranging. She obtained a C & G in 1990, which covered Floral Design, History of Flowers, Botany, Horticulture and Garden Design. Madeline went on to attain a Certificate of Education and taught in Adult Education for a number of years. Madeline is very proud to be a fellow of the Society of Botanical Artists

Having loved art from a young child, she was inspired to paint flowers, enjoying all their various stages, from the pretty bud, the full vibrant bloom and even in their final fading days, when they produce some wonderful quirky shapes and rich colours.

Madeline loves the garden and grows her own flowers, which she either paints from life, or photographs for painting at a later date, especially throughout the winter months. Her preferred mediums are Watercolour or Pastel.

When she is not painting flowers she enjoys painting animals particularly family pets in pastels.

She enjoys painting other subjects in various mediums and styles. She is also interested in Textile Art.

Madeline exhibited at the SBA Plantae Exhibition at The Mall Gallery in London – June 2019.

In September 2019 she exhibited at the Art Fair in Macclesfield, Cheshire, she has shown her work in this art fair since 2012.

She has exhibited her work in other local venues.
